SneakeNet
UUPlus SneakerNet is designed to work just like you are connecting over a modem, except it uses a floppy disk or other removable media for the data transfer. SneakerNet was made for owners of mailboxes on a SOHO account who wish to get their mail on their own computer, but cannot connect to the SOHO computer over a local area network. SneakerNet can also be used for SOHO Pro mailboxes under the same circumstances.
Messages are composed and read using any POP3 mailer, such as Outlook or Outlook Express, Pegasus, Eudora, etc. UUPlus must be running when you send and receive messages in your mailer.
To "make a call" with UUPlus, put the floppy disk from your server in drive A: and click the "Call" button. Any inbound mail from the server that is on the floppy will be copied to your mail box, any mail you have sent from your mailer will be copied to the floppy disk.
To "finish the call", put on your sneakers and walk over to the server. For faster mail delivery you can run to the server, though if you are in the tropics, the slower mode of delivery will most likely do.
When a "call" is made, a backup copy of messages you send is stored in the Sent mail folder to protect against loss. To access the archive, click the Mail In button and select the Sent folder.
